About Kimberly's Child Care

               Kimberly’s Child Care is a home-based child care established in April 2016. This small in-home care facility is PA State licensed, and currently serves up to 6 children at any given time depending on the children’s schedules and availability. Kimberly’s Child Care is owned and operated by myself, Kimberly Rogers.

               I have opened Kimberly's Child Care because working with children has always been a passion for me. As a lead Preschool teacher, I have developed a strong desire to work with smaller groups of children in a more individualized setting. It is my belief that smaller groups allow for more varied and personalized instruction. The children would receive more support and attention as they strive to become individuals with self-confidence, creativity, and passion. All children should and would be able to participate and interact within a nurturing environment that is supportive of their cognitive, emotional, and social development. As a result I have begun to explore a new avenue in my life through small business studies, and additional child-development training with the goal of providing exceptional quality care and services for your families.

Kimberly’s Child Care Philosophy and Goals

 

               The beauty of working in this type of home-based environment is that I am better able to maintain and attain my own personal approaches to teaching. Every child is unique, interesting, and loveable. I am seeking to create such an environment in which the children and their parents/guardians feel that this place is an extension of their own homes. Nurturing. Enriching. Passionate. Creative.

               There are specific educational philosophies which are being offered through a variety of curriculums and educational environments. As a home-based child care facility, I find my own to be a mix of the developmental approach and the progressive approach to learning. I am a mother who wishes your children and my own to develop at an age appropriate level. And under the regulations I must meet requirements which promote these stages physically, cognitively, emotionally, and socially. However, each child also has a creative side that I believe is just as important to develop. I believe their learning should be as individualized as possible. This facilities daily plan will be created through a thoughtful inclusion of the current children’s interests and abilities, as well as introducing new and hopefully exciting themes along the way.

               Thus, I have set a goal to assist your child/children in reaching their full potential in all these areas through repetition and consistency. Kimberly’s Child Care provides your child/children with stability and predictability through an established daily schedule, and through daily lesson plans. Younger children will primarily learn through teacher facilitated play and experiential learning while interacting with their peers. Preschool aged children will engage in the same form of play with additional periods of teacher directed learning specifically preparing them for entering the school system. I seek to make all forms of learning enjoyable for each and every child. All children should develop a sense of accomplishment, pride, positive self-esteem, and independence through the work they produce at their own pace.
