Sept./Oct. 2016

What’s New?

Welcome Friends! Well there is a lot that is new since August when I posted my first blog/newsletter.

For starters: I’m already late posting the September newsletter due to technical issues – our computer crashed! Now that is fixed and I’m playing catch-up on several documents. That being said; in September we had our shared driveway re-done. Parents will now have a much easier time pulling in to park, and a safer walk to the front door. September was also a time for several new inquiries. I’ve had families come and visit, but no commitments were made yet. We also began decorating for the season, as well as, clean-up efforts outside while we try to keep up with the abundance of fall leaves we are blessed with. We’ve harvested our little garden of green beans, tomatoes, and cucumbers. We also began clearing out more space near the play-ground for future use.

October has been just as busy. I have kept up my part-time job to balance the income while waiting on new clients to join us. We decorated for Halloween. And the biggest change is the completion of our fenced in dog yard! This is a big deal because it allows me to take care of our pets without leaving any child/children unattended for any length of time. Most excitingly, we have our first registered family which began attending closer to the end of this month. I am so happy to share my home with them! I am looking forward to doing so with many more families from our community.

Shout-outs!

Shout out to my part-time boss! He is amazing and I am very grateful to be able to work for him. My schedule is super flexible, and he completely supports my efforts at starting my own business.

The same must be said for my wonderful husband who has helped me every step of the way.

Thank you to everyone for your support and encouragement. I hope to make you all proud to participate.

Important Information

There was nothing out of the ordinary for the month of September.

For the month of October: Friday, October 21st was a big deal because my son had surgery and has been home all week since then. He is doing very well, and I appreciate the understanding and support of local families while my husband and I spent the day at Lourde’s Hospital. He has been recovering very well this week.

Reflections

As I think back over the last two months I am pleased with the work that has helped us to move forward. There are many more plans and ideas swimming through my mind. I look forward to each step becoming completed and moving us towards being the best Child Care Home in the area. Slow and steady wins the race! I was sad to see no response to our offer for an Open House/Halloween party, but there are more opportunities just around the corner. If you have anything to share feel free to leave your comments below; any questions then please feel free to contact me via our contact information section. Thank you for stopping by to visit and catch up on our news. See you next month!
