February 2017

What’s New?

Welcome to a new month. February saw one of our drop-in children become full-time. He is most definitely coming into his own as he reaches new milestones daily. He is pushing himself up into the crawling position. He drives the walker very well forward and backward. He has begun to say recognizable words like Ma, ba, Aub, and go.

For our school-aged kids we worked on many different Valentine activities. Cards and candy were sent out. We made coat-hanger wreaths for the rest of our doors, and invested in decorations for the play area to celebrate a season of love.

Dezdae and Malachi are looking forward to summer time and hopefully an increased number of enrolled children.

I am still working through the STARS application process and trainings; moving forwards as always.

Shout-outs!

None for the month of February.

Happy Birthday’s

None this month.

Expectations

For the month of March we will be working on a variety of means for exploring and welcoming spring. I look forward to sensory bags for the younger children filled with seeds, hopefully some grass, and numerous other green items. We are ready to begin our indoor planting. The older children will get to do a lot gardening research. Of course we will be spending plenty of time with Dr. Seuss activities and stories as well. Lastly we will be getting outside more often. OH! And I can’t forget that it’s time for those wonderful child service reports to get completed.

Reflections

February has been a bit scary. So this month I will be spending a particular effort on enrollment and marketing. I have got to do better communicating with our community what I am able to offer.
